Greg Gumbel - Professional Achievements

A veteran of sports television for nearly 30 years, Greg Gumbel has an Olympic talent for putting audiences in the midst of the play-by-play excitement. His entertaining speeches – filled with colorful and enlightening anecdotes and videotaped sports highlights – use tales of record-breaking sports achievers to inspire, entertain, motivate and awaken the best in each of us.

Host of CBS’ coverage of the 2003 NCAA Mens’ Basketball Tournament and the Final Four, he has also covered NFL and college football, Major League Baseball, the Daytona 500, the World Figure Skating Championships and three separate Olympic Games. Gumbel was the first network broadcaster to both call play-by-play and host the Super Bowl.

A three-time Emmy Award-winner, the affable Greg Gumbel has worked with some of the greatest names in sports television and he currently joins former NY Giants quarterback Phil Simms as CBS Sports’ lead NFL broadcast team.
